8 Overrated Interior Design Trends

Lately we’ve been seeing more homes with higher-end upgrades outside of the norm for the neighborhood. Before making any changes, we recommend considering the following before spending any money. 1 – Upgrades are for your enjoyment as well as adding value to the home. 2 – Depending on the upgrades, you can recoup up to 50% of the cost.  3 – When it’s time to sell the home, Appraisers will use different cost adjustments for upgrades than Realtors. Appraiser have various guidelines from the Buyer’s Lender and type of loan used in the purchase for the appraisal.  (Note – This advice is for owner-occupied homes. Investor flips can get a higher return since the upgrades would be brand-new.)
